A revolution in the organization of transportation

CONSOLID launched a new tender functionality for its workspace in mid-February 2025. This tool simplifies the organization of transportation and allows shippers to quickly find carriers at the best price, reducing time spent on operational work to a minimum.

“A tender is a simple mechanism that greatly simplifies the work of a logistician. Previously, we had to spend from half an hour to 2.5 hours to close one route, communicating with 10-15 carriers. Now, it takes 15-20 minutes to launch several tenders simultaneously,” says Rostyslav Pelya, CEO of SKU logistics company.

The tender functionality has become part of the CONSOLID.AI integrated solution that covers the entire cycle of organizing cargo transportation - from creating a route and finding a carrier to controlling payments and returning documents.

How does the tender system work?

The CONSOLID.AI tender system is a convenient tool that allows shippers to create and bid for routes simply and quickly.  The process is organized in such a way as to ensure transparency, competition, and convenience for all participants.

The tender is created through a simple and intuitive interface in the CONSOLID.AI Carrier and Consignor workspaces. The shipper fills in important parameters:

1. Route (loading and unloading points)

2. Type of cargo, its weight and volume

3. Date and time of loading

4. Date and time of tender publication

5. Date and time of accepting bids (active phase period)

6. Maximum price and step down

7. Selects the carrier participants that are allowed to play

At a certain time, the tender becomes available to the selected carriers, who receive a notification of the start of the bidding. The carriers bid on the price reduction in a certain step.

For domestic transportation

The system is designed to simplify the creation of tenders for domestic transportation as much as possible. The shipper specifies the points of loading and unloading, the number of pallet places, the weight of the cargo, and other basic parameters.

Rostyslav Pelya recommends: “If a tender is held across Ukraine, usually half an hour to an hour is allocated for one tender. That is, the logistician creates it and plays, and in half an hour he just comes to check the result, because he is not concerned about the process, how it is going, and is only concerned about the final.”

For international routes

International tenders have additional options for specifying customs operations and border crossings.

“For international routes, you need to select the 'International operation' option. There are three options available: customs operation, border crossing, and unloading,” explains Liubov Nechyporenko, Head of CONSOLID.AI. “For international tenders, it is important where the carrier crosses the border. This is reflected in the documents.”

Practical recommendations

To maximize the efficiency of using tenders, it is important to choose the optimal time for their holding.

“It is advisable for shippers to choose a certain time at which they will always hold tenders so that carriers can be guided by it. It is best to choose the periods from 10:00 to 12:00 am or from 14:00 to 16:00,” advises Rostyslav Pelya.

If the tender is held the day before the shipment, it is better to organize the auction at 15:00-16:30. If the shipment is to be made on the same day, the carrier should be chosen in the morning. 

Choosing the right price reduction step is also important: “It depends on the amount and currency of the tender. If the route is for UAH 10 thousand, a step of UAH 100 is enough, if the route is more expensive, you can set a larger step. Mostly people do not make a step of more than UAH 200, and if it is an international route, it is 10-20 euros.” 

Security and privacy

The CONSOLID system ensures transparency of the process and confidentiality of participants. Bidders see the price offers of others, but do not see the names of companies. Only the shipper has full access to the information.

After the tender is completed, the shipper selects the winner, taking into account not only the price but also the carrier's reputation.
